Crystal Bomberry

Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle
Diabetes Wellness Worker
Crystal Bomberry is a Mohawk woman of the Turtle Clan, and makes her home at Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.  She is a mother to two wonderful girls.  She has been with the IDHC team as a Family Wellness Worker since 2009, continuing on from a few years of prior work in diabetes prevention and health promotion.  Crystal is passionate about serving our Indigenous communities and inspiring healthy change within people by encouraging them to be active and eat foods that nourish body, mind and spirit.  Having obtained her CanFitPro Personal Training Specialist certificate prior to 2009, she regularly offers exercise education and activity programs within her diabetes awareness and prevention work.  She has also obtained her East to West Yoga Teacher-350hr certificate (EWYT350) and thoroughly enjoys integrating yoga exercise and basic yoga philosophy into her program initiatives to compliment existing IDHC tools and resources that are culturally and holistically guided.  She feels that expanded consciousness, deep self-awareness, and readiness are key elements in attaining healthy change and positive outcomes in all aspects of our lives.
